No. Our appointments only provide general legal guidance or information aimed to help support you in navigating the issue. Canada Legal Guidance does not get engaged as your lawyer or legal representative during the appointment. Canada Legal Guidance does not establish a lawyer-client relationship with you or offer specific legal advice. For detailed legal assistance, you will need to subsequently engage a lawyer.

No. Since we are not providing you with legal advice, the goal of Canada Legal Guidance is to empower you so that you can take next applicable steps which might be your drafting of court filings, agreements or letters. While we may be able to provide some guidance on what to include in such materials, we cannot and do not prepare, revise or send out any such materials for you on our appointments.

If you miss your appointment or arrive late, please note that your payments are non-refundable. You may reschedule your appointment if you miss the appointment or need additional time but will be required to submit payment for it again. Therefore, we encourage you to plan accordingly to ensure you can attend at your scheduled time.

While we take privacy seriously, communications during consultations are not protected by solicitor-client privilege. We recommend avoiding the disclosure of sensitive or confidential information during your session.

If we determine that your legal issue is outside the scope of our expertise, we will immediately notify you of this and your appointment will be cancelled. In this case, you will not be charged anything.

Once a consultation is booked, cancellations or rescheduling are not permitted. Please review your availability carefully before confirming your appointment.

To make the most of your consultation, please: (1) provide accurate and relevant details about your legal concern during the booking process; (2) have all necessary documents or information on hand during the session; and (3) join the video call on time using a stable internet connection.

If your legal issue requires more in-depth assistance, we encourage you to consult and then engage a lawyer to act as your legal representative. Our team can provide general guidance to help you understand the next steps and aims to also make its network of experienced lawyers available to you after discussion with you.

While pro bono clinics offer free services, they often come with limitations such as long wait times, restricted availability, inconsistent expertise levels, limited geographic application and eligibility requirements based on your income bracket.
